Southwest Jiaotong University and Chengdu Vocational and Technical College of Industry and Trade have selected 20 students to form the "Sino German Field Engineer Pilot Class " in 2024, to carry out a pilot program for cultivating technical innovation talents with Chinese characteristics and German standards
Characteristics of the Sino German Pilot Class. In 2025 a new class is followed.
1.1 Project based teaching
Project based teaching will be integrated throughout the entire teaching process, mainly focusing on the "Guidelines for National Vocational College Skills Competition Events (2023-2027)", the German IHK assessment and certification project, and the Chinese University Formula Racing. Enable students to learn by doing, combine theory with practice, and develop their learning, hands-on, and creative abilities. Students' abilities can be recognized by the German IHK/HWK guild and form distinctive characteristics in the industry!
1.2 Multi mentor system
Experts from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu Industry and Trade Center, German Academic Exchange Center, CRRC Group, and other relevant institutions have formed a mentor team to provide guidance for students throughout their learning process, covering theoretical, practical, international, employment, and competition aspects.
1.3 German Language Standards
Organize a team of German language experts from Jiaotong University, the German Academic Exchange Center, and Sichuan International Studies University to conduct immersive 1376 class hours of German language teaching for all students. From the first year's "Basic German" to achieve basic exchange and internship in Germany, to the second year's "Industry German" to achieve basic technical exchange in Germany, to the third year's "Professional German" to enable students to work in German enterprises or receive dual education. Students are familiar with German culture, history and industry, and can apply for review in Germany through consulates. Their language and learning achievements can be recognized by German guilds.
1.4 International Competence
Through visiting German/domestic German enterprises, practice, learning, exchange and various cross-cultural activities, students will be trained to be internationally competent, able to work in Germany and in domestic German enterprises, and meet the requirements of the national "the Belt and Road" international strategic talents.
