  2. 冬季冰雪条件下的道路交通问题及相应的维护管理系统开发 (funded by Ministry of Transportation Ontario, AURORA (a consortia of US DOTs), Landscape Ontario, Burlington and Oakville)
    This research theme includes the following specific projects: a) quantifying the safety and mobility benefit of winter road maintenance; b) performance measurement and standards for winter road maintenance; c) evaluation of alternative snow and ice control strategies and materials; d) development of mobile road condition monitoring systems; e) estimation and forecasting of road surface conditions with remote sensing and mobile mapping; f) development of real-time decision support systems for winter maintenance operations management.

  3. 铁路公路交通安全理论和分析 (funded by Transport Canada)
    This research theme covers a range of topics, including development of GIS-based model for road accident analysis, risk-based optimization model to locate dangerous goods emergency response units, hotspot identification and countermeasure analysis at highway-rail grade crossings. A web based safety analysis application has been developed (www.gradex.ca), which is currently being used by Transport Canada and several Canadian railway companies. 

  4. 物联网与交通云—智慧城市服务平台系统研究 (funded by SWJTU)
    Internet of Things frameworks might help support the interaction between "things" and allow for more complex structures like Distributed computing and the development of Distributed applications. Currently, some Internet of Things frameworks seem to focus on real time data logging solutions like traffic cloud: offering some basis to work with many "things" and have them interact shared the traffic cloud information for the smart city service system.

  5. 基于大数据的城市机动车PM2.5排放机理与治理方法研究 (funded by NSSF and UW)
    Previous studies have shown that collection of nitric oxide (NO) samples from expired air may represent a noninvasive measure of lower airway inflammation. To investigate the potential impacts of traffic-related particles on sub-clinical lung inflammation, we examined the associations between particulate exposures and the fraction of exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) in a panel of senior citizens exposed to elevated levels of traffic-related pollutants during a series of bus trips.

  6. 城市轨道交通与网络复杂性研究 (funded by China Central University Research Fund )
    Urban rail transit is an all-encompassing term for various types of local rail systems providing passenger service within and around urban or suburban areas. The set of urban rail systems can be roughly subdivided into the following categories, which sometimes overlap because some systems or lines have aspects of each.

  7. 基于实时数据分析的危险品运输与物流路径优化研究 (funded by NSERC and AstaTech)
    This research addresses the various risks associated with the transport of dangerous goods within a territory. The emphasis of the contributions is on methods and tools to reduce the vulnerability of both the environment and human society to accidents or malicious acts involving such transport. With topics ranging from game theory to governance principles, the authors together cover technical, legal, financial, and logistic aspects of this problem.
