Supervisor of Master's Candidates
Haitao Li is an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at the Research Center for Super-High-Speed Evacuated Tube Maglev Transport, Southwest Jiaotong University. His research focuses on maglev transportation, superconducting maglev systems, vehicle–guideway coupled dynamics, vibration control, and super-high-speed evacuated tube transportation.
He has published more than 50 SCI-indexed journal papers. His publications have received over 1,800 citations, with an H-index of 25. He has led and participated in research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and other national and provincial research programs. His research combines theoretical modeling, numerical simulation, experimental validation, and engineering applications, with particular emphasis on the dynamic behavior, stability, and vibration mitigation of advanced maglev transportation systems.
In addition to his research on maglev transportation, Dr. Li has been extensively involved in the planning, development, and management of major research infrastructures. He has participated in the development and management of large-scale experimental platforms for advanced rail transit and super-high-speed maglev transportation, and has conducted systematic studies on the planning, construction, operation, sharing, and management of major scientific and technological infrastructures.
He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Innovation-Driven Development Center of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), where his research extends to science and technology policy, major research infrastructure management, emerging and future industries, and innovation-driven development. This experience enables him to bridge engineering research with technology strategy, research infrastructure governance, and national innovation policy.
Dr. Li has established active international collaborations with universities and research institutions in Europe. His international research activities cover maglev transportation, vehicle–structure interaction, structural dynamics, passive and semi-active vibration control, and experimental validation. He has also been actively engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration linking advanced transportation technology, major research infrastructures, and science and technology policy.
Prospective students and researchers from around the world are warmly welcome to join our research team. We welcome applications and inquiries from motivated students interested in pursuing Master's and Ph.D. degrees, as well as researchers seeking postdoctoral opportunities at Southwest Jiaotong University. Research topics may include maglev transportation, superconducting maglev systems, vehicle–guideway interaction, structural dynamics and vibration control, super-high-speed transportation, and other related interdisciplinary areas. Students and researchers with backgrounds in mechanics, mechanical engineering, transportation engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, and related disciplines are particularly encouraged to contact us. International students and researchers interested in interdisciplinary and collaborative research are also very welcome.
