"Refined virtuoso technique, fervent enthusiasm, and enthralling interpretation" hailed by Gramophone critic Bryce Morrison. Hongda Wu has performed in various countries throughout Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Far East. He has graced prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall in the United States; the National Concert Hall, National Gallery, the German Embassy, and the Royal Dublin Society in Ireland; Bösendorfer Hall in Austria; and the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland, among others.
Mr. Wu has also made appearances at various music festivals, including the Salzburger Festspiele and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts Summer Festival in Austria; the Portland International Piano Festival and the North American PianoArts Festival in the U.S.; the Orford Musique Festival in Canada; the Lucca Music Festival in Italy; and Culture Night and the Royal Irish Academy of Music Piano Festival in Ireland. His performances have been broadcast on several platforms, including the American WUWM and K-UTE, Austria's ÖRF, and Liaoning Radio in China.
His accolades include awards from the Zagreb International Piano Competition, the Juliusz Zarębski International Music Competition, and the Utah Summer Arts Piano Competition, among others. He has collaborated with various symphony orchestras, such as the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Salt Lake Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra, the Taylorsville Philharmonic Orchestra, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Wu earned his Bachelor’s degree at Shenyang Conservatory of Music and was awarded a full scholarship to study abroad in the United States, where he obtained his Master's degree at the University of Wisconsin. Later, he moved to Europe to pursue his Artist Diploma at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he graduated with the highest honors. In 2023, he earned his Doctorate degree from the University of Utah. Currently, Mr. Wu is an Assistant Professor of Piano at Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu.
