Design Updates and Social Design

Focusing on the paradigm reconstruction of design value in the context of social transformation, this explores how design can engage with practical issues such as urban renewal, community building, public services, and social resilience. The research uses critical thinking, systems approaches, and action research as tools to shift design from the creation of 'things' to the systemic construction of 'relationships,' 'services,' and 'mechanisms.' It emphasizes public participation, collaborative co-creation, and the activation of local knowledge, paying attention to accessibility and equity for vulnerable groups, and exploring low-intervention, iterative renewal strategies. Through design experiments and social practice, it forms solutions that combine cultural identity with ecological sustainability, supporting the self-empowerment of social organizations and the flexible transformation of spatial governance.
