Taiyue Qi, born in 1958, doctor of engineering and postdoctoral fellow, is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Southwest Jiaotong University. Prof. Qi received a bachelor's degree in mining engineering from China University of Mining and Technology in 1985, where he stayed for teaching at the same year, and received his Ph.D. from China University of Mining and Technology in 2001. Prof. Qi completed his scientific research work in the postdoctoral mobile station of Bridge and Tunnel Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University in 2004, where he stayed for teaching at the same year. He has been recognized as the Professor since 2002, and employed to be a supervisor of doctoral students in 2003. Since 1985, Prof. Qi has been always working in the frontlines of teaching and scientific research. The number of different scientific research projects which he has presided over, attended, and completed is more than fifty. Among them, there are more than 20 national, ministerial and provincial, or major special-Level research tasks, which are mainly supported by the national key scientific and technological projects of the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth five-year plans, 863 Programs, and National Science and Technology Support Program of China. The main research content covers multi-disciplinary fields, including urban subway engineering, tunnel aerodynamic, super-advance forecast of geological disaster in tunnelling, stability classification of roadway surrounding rock, development of high water quick setting cement, theory and techniques of roadway support, development of intelligent instrument and so on. During the presided over and participated research works, Prof. Qi has won 1 second-class National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, 8 Ministerial and Provincial-Level Science and Technology Awards. Prof. Qi has published more than 100 papers, in which more than 30 ones has been included in SCI and more than 20 ones has been indexed by EI Compendex, and a copy of academic monograph titled by Numerical Simulation Study of Interaction Between Bolt and Surrounding Rock.
