[Title] A Method for Estimating Nighttime Atmospheric Transparency Using All-Sky Camera Images

- Abstract:Atmospheric transparency is a key parameter for evaluating the quality of astronomical observing sites,especially for nighttime optical observations. In this study,a novel method is proposed to estimate nighttime atmospheric transparency using all-sky camera images. By analyzing the spatial distribution and intensity variation of stars in all-sky images,a transparency index is constructed and calibrated with simultaneous sky brightness and extinction measurements. Application of the method to long-term observations demonstrates that it can effectively characterize temporal variations in atmospheric transparency and provide a low-cost,automated solution for continuous site monitoring.
