    Lin Sheng was born in 1983, he is a doctor of Engineering, IET Fellow, IEEE Senior Member, Deputy Secretary General of IEEE PES (China) Protection and Control Technology Committee, he was selected as "Young Eagle Scholar" of Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan Province "Tianfu WR Program"; He received his bachelor's and doctor's degrees from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2006 and 2012, respectively. From October 2009 to October 2010, he learnt in North Carolina State Univ. 

    In recent years, he has presided over 3 projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (General 2, Youth 1), 2 science and technology projects of Sichuan Province, 1 sub-project of major science and technology research projects of China Railway Corporation, 2 projects of opening of national key laboratories, 1 science and technology project of Chengdu City, and 2 projects supported by the basic scientific research business expenses of central universities. He has presided over more than 10 horizontal projects of enterprises such as Shenzhen Electric Power Bureau, Sichuan Electric Power Research Institute, Guizhou Electric Power Research Institute, Sichuan Electric Power Design Consulting Company, and China Railway Siyuan survey and design group company. He has been researching more than 10 vertical projects, such as the National Key Project of Smart Grid, the National Key Project of Advanced Rail Transit, the Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Doctoral Fund of the Ministry of Education, and the Science and Technology Research and Development Major Project of China Railway Corporation.In IEEE Trans. Power Del., IEEE Trans. Vh. Technol., IEEE Trans. Transport Electrific., IET RPG、IET GTD、Int J. of Electrical Power and Energy Systems, CSEE and other domestic and foreign academic journals, More than 80 papers have been published, among which more than 60 papers have been recorded in SCI/EI. More than 50 invention patents were authorized and 4 software Copyrights were registered. He has won 1 first prize of China Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 first prizes of Science and Technology of China Railway Society, 1 second prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Education, 1 second prize of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, 1 second prize of Science and Technology of China Railway Society, and 1 third prize of Science and Technology of China Railway Society.

    Now he is an expert of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) project network evaluation, reviewer of IEEE Trans. on Power Del., IEEE Trans. on Smart Grid, IEEE Trans. on Veh. Energy Systems, Int Trans. on Electrical Energy Systems, Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering, Power Grid Technology, Power System Automation, Journal of Electrotechnology, High Voltage Technology, etc.

    Name of Research Group:"Power System Protection and Health Management (PHM)" Laboratory

    Description of Research Group:This lab is a core component of the "Internet of Transportation Energy Research Center (iTEC)" led by Prof. He Zhengyou,the lab relies on the National Key Discipline (Power System and its Automation), the National Engineering and Technology Research Center of Rail Transit Electrification and Automation, the International Cooperation Base of Sichuan Province, the Sichuan Youth Innovation Team of Intelligent Traction Power Supply.The lab consists of four faculty members, Prof. Sheng Lin, Associate Prof. Liping Zhao, Assistant Prof. Ding Feng, Assistant Prof. Wang, and more than 30 PhD/MS students.
    ★ Developed the fault prediction and health management system of traction substation, which has been popularized and applied in Fuxin substation of Beijing-Shenyang high-speed railway (the first intelligent traction substation in China) and Beijing-Zhang high-speed railway (the first intelligent high-speed railway in China).

    ★ Developed a portable transformer DC magnetic bias detection device, which has been applied in Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, Guiyang Power Supply Bureau engineering;

    ★ The first DC magnetic bias monitoring system of main substation of urban power network in China has been developed, which has been popularized and applied in the regional power network of Shenzhen station. It has realized the effective suppression of DC magnetic bias of main substation caused by subway stray current intrusion in the regional power network.
