The main researcher has completed more than 60 scientific research projects, including 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 other national-level projects, 10 provincial and ministerial-level projects, and published more than 150 academic papers.

In recent years, research has been focused on the service performance of steel bridges and steel-concrete composite bridges under complex environmental conditions. In combination with national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and the construction of national key projects, innovative research has been carried out on the fatigue test and fatigue damage mechanism of complex bridge structures. The research results have been directly applied to key national construction projects and solved some key problems faced by steel structure bridges. Technical difficulties have provided a theoretical basis for structural design and achieved significant economic and social benefits.
