Hongrui Wang, Full Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, selected for the National High level Youth Talent Program. Prof. Wang was formerly an assistant professor (permenant) and doctoral supervisor at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands from 2020 to 2025. He is an IEEE Senior Member, currently serving as the Senior Area Editor for the journal IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.

My research focuses on the intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M) and resilience enhancement of railway systems driven by artificial intelligence. Using physical-information machine learning and large language models as core methods, my research addresses two major application scenarios, railway infrastructure and traction power supply systems, to improve the interpretability of big data-driven intelligent O&M and enhance system resilience under extreme weather conditions.

I'm currently hosting one project funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has led six overseas research projects, including one subproject of the Europe's Rail flagship project IAM4RAIL, one PhD project funded by Marie Curie Doctoral Networks, one ProRail research project of the Dutch National Railways, Tenure Track Start-up Fund project of Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, etc..

I have received the IEEE TIM Outstanding Associate Editor award for four consecutive years (2020-2023). He has been selected as one of the top 2% most cited global scientists (2022-2025) published by ‌Elsevier. He received the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the European Rail Research Advisory Council (2021).
