Ruoran Chen is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM), School of Economics and Management, Southwest Jiaotong University. Dr. Chen received a B.S. degree in 2011 and a Ph.D. degree in 2018, both from the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University. From January to July 2015, Dr. Chen visited Purdue University as a Visiting Scholar. From 2018 to 2021, Dr. Chen worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tsinghua University.
Dr. Chen's research interests include supply management and supply chain resilience, service system control, retail management, and data-centric operations. Research findings have been published in leading academic journals such as Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, and Reliability Engineering & System Safety, as well as at international conferences including ICLR.
Dr. Chen currently teaches "Applied Statistics", and "Artificial Intelligence" (undergraduate courses in the School of Economics and Management), as well as "Quantitative Analysis: Models and Methods" (a graduate-level course for professional master's students in the School of Economics and Management).
