Yuchun Zhang, Ph.D., Professor, Supervisor of Master's and Doctor's Candidates, registered safety engineer, Vice Dean of Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Department of Fire Protection Engineering. In 1998, he was admitted to the China University of Mining and Technology, majoring in mine ventilation and safety. In 2005, he graduated from the China University of Mining and Technology majoring in safety technology and engineering. He started to work at the Department of Fire Protection Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University in 2005. In 2011, he graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University with a Ph.D. in Bridges and Tunnels Engineering.  He has more than 30 publications in International Journal of Thermal Sciences, Construction and Building Materials, Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, Chinese physics B, Journal of Civil Engineering, Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University, Journal of China University of Mining and Technology, Journal of China Safety Science , China’s production safety technology and other journals and conferences. He has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of Ministry of Science and Technology Projects, Chongqing Major Science and Technology Plan Projects, Sichuan Province Transportation Science and Technology Project, Zhejiang Province Transportation Science and Technology Project, Guizhou Province Transportation Science and Technology Project, etc. He has won special prize of Science and Technology of China Highway Society, second prize of Science and Technology of China Highway Society, second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education, second prize of Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award. 3 national invention patents and 3 new utility patents were authored. The research interests are: tunnel and underground space fire prevention, emergency rescue technology, intelligent fire, etc.
