Yang Fei, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor.
         Professor Yang Fei is the vice director of Transportation Engineering at School of Transportation and Logistics. He was born in April, 1980. Professor Yang received his Ph.D. from Tongji University and was a postdoctoral scholar at University of Wisconsin-Madison, United States of America. Professor Yang has been selected into Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University and Sichuan Province High-level Talent Pool. He is the expert advisor of National Natural Science Funds, and the editing member of Information-An International Interdisciplinary Journal and Modern Transportation, and also the peer reviewer of Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University (English Edition), Journal of Southeast University (Natural Science Edition), Modern Transportation Technology, et al. Professor Yang’s research interests include Intelligent Transportation Technology and Applications, Travel behavior theory and validation, urban transportation planning theory and methodologies. He has gained international recognition in the transportation professional by his novel researches on traffic data collection method based on cell phone positioning technology. He has conducted two National Natural Science Funds, one Ministry of Education University Ph.D. Funds, one Key Laboratory of Road and Traffic Engineering of the Ministry of Education project, and more than 20 other practical projects and researches from both governments and enterprises. In recent years, Professor Yang has published over 30 papers, among which more than ten are indexed by SCI, EI, and one monograph Road Travel Speed Sampling Extraction Technology Research based on Cellphone Hand-off Positioning (Science Press). He also owned two patents and one copyright of computer software. Professor Yang has kept close communication and cooperation with scholars around the world, such as University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Texas-Austin, University of Akron, Canada University of Alberta, and Kyoto University. About 20 master and doctor students graduated under Professor Yang’s supervision. He is teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses, including Transportation Planning Theory, Transportation System and Travel Demand Management. Being a member of Transportation Engineering National Level Professional Specialty and the National Level Teaching Team, Professor Yang participated in the establishment of the national level excellent course Transportation Management and Control. He was awarded one first prize and one second prize of Southwest Jiaotong University Teaching Achievement Award and his students received National Competition of Transport Science and Technology for Students second award under his supervisi.
