Dr. & Prof. Wang Xiaoru, born in Chengdu, Sichuan in November 1962, is an IEEE senior member. She is engaged in researching and teaching in the field of power system protection and stability control. She is a member of the editorial board of the journal《power system protection and control》and is a reviewer for several first class journals in domestic and abroad. She worked as a visiting scholar in three universities of the USA and Europe including Cornell University. She is the primary investigatory or coordinator of three NSFC (Nature Science Found of China) programs. She has more than 220 papers published and is one of contributors of an English academic book. She teaches the course of Power System Analysis for undergraduate students and the course of Power System Operation and Control for PhD students. In 2009, she was awarded the Zhan Tianyou Railway Science and Technology Teaching Prize, First Prize of the Sichuan Province Excellent Education Achievement, and First Prize of the National Excellent Education Achievement.

1.Name of Research Group:Power System Protection and Control Team
Description of Research Group: The team has long been engaged in research on power system protection and safety and stability control.Since 2001, research on protection and safety and stability control based on wide-area measurement has begun.Since 2010, with the support of the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and China-Denmark Intergovernmental Cooperation Project, research on modern grid protection control for large-scale renewable energy grid connection has begun.Currently, Mr. Wang supervises 8 doctoral students and 13 master students.
