Profile

Professor Jin Wang, born in 1968, is a doctoral supervisor. She graduated from Sichuan University in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Materials Science. She is a member of the Chinese Materials Research Society and the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering. She has led one national key research and development project, one sub-project, three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, one project under the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Program, and one international cooperation project in Sichuan Province. As a key researcher, she has participated in one key project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, two projects under the "973" Program, and two projects under the "863" Program. Her researches focus on addressing issues related to blood coagulation, tissue hyperplasia, delayed endothelial healing, and implant-associated infections in cardiovascular materials and interventional devices. She has innovatively developed various surface modification techniques to construct biomedical materials and devices with anticoagulant, smooth muscle cell proliferation inhibition, endothelialization induction, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. She has conducted in-depth research on the corresponding mechanisms, and the research results have been published in Biomaterials, Advanced Healthcare Materials, and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. She has also applied the research findings to the development of drug-eluting stents. As a core member, she participated in the development of the Helios drug-eluting stent, which has obtained approval from the National Medical Products Administration and has been clinically used in 200,000 sets. She was selected for the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Program in 2007 and recognized as an outstanding expert with outstanding contributions in Sichuan Province in 2013. She won the second prize of the Ministry of Education's Technical Invention Award (ranked third) in 2016, the first prize of Sichuan Province's Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2007 (ranked fifth), and the second prize of the Huang Jiasi Biomedical Engineering Award of the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering in 2015 (ranked third). She has published 80 articles as the first or corresponding author, including 65 SCI-indexed articles, and has been granted 22 Chinese invention patents. The "Degradable Magnesium Alloy Coronary Stent Technology," in which she participated as a core member, successfully achieved technology transfer in April 2019.
