Prof. PENG is now the leading talent of National High-level Personnel of Special Support Program, National Outstanding Teacher, Director of National United Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation. Academic and Technical Leaders of Sichuan province, editorial board member of Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Journal of Modern Transportation. He is also the member of Transportation Accreditation Sub-Committee of China Engineering Education Accreditation Association, the Transportation and Engineering Committee of Ministry of Education, and member of Expert Advisory Committee of Ministry of Transport.
Prof. PENG has been dedicated to research and teaching on intelligent organization and dispatching of rail transportation. He has presided over 70 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, and published more than 160 papers, half of which were indexed by SCI, EI, ISTP. Besides, Prof. Peng has edited and published over 10 books, including monographs, textbooks, and national planning materials. He has earned more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial awards and honors in past decades.

Description of Research Group:作为交通运输规划与管理学科带头人,在计算机编制列车运行图、既有铁路提速、高速铁路运输组织及优化、铁路调度指挥等方面的研究工作中取得了突出的成绩,为我国铁路列车提速、集装箱运输组织的发展及客运专线建设做出了积极的贡献。在交通运输规划、运输组织优化以及智能交通方面的研究取得了创造性的成果,在计算机编制列车运行图方面首次提出并采用了时空局域优化技术,填补了我国在这一研究与应用领域的空白,其研究成果处于国内外领先水平,取得了重大的经济效益和社会效益。
