Professor Ning Weiwei (January 1962)is the director of Psychological        Research and Consulting Center of Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan Province, an academic and technology leader        and teaching master of Sichuan Province. He is also the charman of Sichuan Mental Health        and Education Research Association.

    Ning's main teaching and research areas include mental health education, youth psychology, and disaster psychology. To        meet the needs of social development Professor Ning in recent years has actively        explored new research areas, including traffic disaster response and        psychological intervention, and mental education of cadres, etc. So far        Professor Ning has chaired and accomplished many projects from the state, the        Ministry of Education, and Sichuan Province. The most representative one is        Disaster Psychology: Mental Education and Crisis Intervention for School        Adolescents in Disaster Areas,a project of the National High Technology Research        and Development Program of China (863 Program). The result of this earthquake        emergency research project has filled the gap in the relevant research field in        China. With the efforts made by the teaching group led by Professor Ning, the        national excellent course “Youth Psychology” won the first prize of Sichuan        Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (provincial government award) in 2009, and        the course College Students Development and Health Psychology won the third        prize of the Fourteenth Sichuan Provincial Excellent Achievements Award of        Philosophy and Social Sciences in 2010.
