Luo Shixian is an assistant professor in the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University, an overseas high-level study abroad talent in Sichuan Province, and a recipient of Southwest Jiaotong University's "Young Scholars Program". Google Scholar Top 100 influential scholars in the field of Landscape architecture.

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Southwest Petroleum University, Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Sichuan Agricultural University under the supervision of Prof. Sun Dajiang, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Chiba University in Japan under the supervision of Prof. Katsunori Furuya.

Dr. Luo's research areas are environmental psychology, environmental behavior, and social ecology. Having published a total of 55 papers in English and Chinese, and his work has been published in academic journals such as Landscape and Urban Planning, Sustainable Cities and Society, Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Landscape Architecture; published one book in Chinese, "Research on Landscape Imagery of Western Sichuan Forest Plateau" (as associate editor). Cited 1000+ times by Google, h-index 17. He has presided over the project of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), the special project of special research assistant of Chiba University, the youth project of Philosophy and Social Science of Sichuan Province, the project of Basic Research Operating Costs of Central Universities-Science and Technology Innovation, and participated in the project of Landscape Recreation Research Center of Sichuan Province, and the project of Kham Culture Research Center of Sichuan Province.

He is currently serving on a peer reviewer of more than 40 academic journals such as Landscape and Urban Planning, Cities, npj Urban Sustainability, Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Landscape Architecture. Besides, he serves as Associate Editor for the Urban Science section of Frontiers in Built Environment, Editorial Board Member for Urban Planning and Construction, and Guest Editor for special issues of Frontiers in Built Environment and Land.
