- Abstract:Atmospheric turbulence has been confirmed as the primary source affecting the quality of ground-based telescope images. To reduce atmospheric effects, optimal site selection and the installation of adaptive optics (AO) systems are essential. Daytime atmospheric turbulence is generally stronger than nighttime turbulence due to solar radiation, posing greater challenges for solar observations. While conventional AO systems are limited to small fields of view, novel wide-field AO systems require accurate measurements of atmospheric turbulence profiles as a prerequisite. This paper presents a comprehensive review of recent daytime atmospheric optical turbulence profile detection technologies. After briefly introducing fundamental turbulence parameters, various stratified turbulence detection methods—such as SNODAR,SHABAR,MOSP,DIMM+,A-MASP,and related techniques—are systematically reviewed, and their respective advantages and limitations are summarized.
