Supervisor of Doctorate Candidates
Supervisor of Master's Candidates
Junyan Li, PhD, Professor, Principal Investigator, Supervisor of Doctorate and Master Candidates.
His research areas include: Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Biotribology, Robotic Exoskeletons, with a focus on multidisciplinary technology development.
By integrating computational methods such as finite element analysis, multibody dynamics, and optimization with experimental techniques including motion capture, image scanning, machine learning, biomechanical testing, tribological testing, and robotics the team specializes in:
Investigating the biomechanics and tribology of bones, muscles, and joints;
Testing and designing personalized implants for joints, ligaments, and cartilage;
Simulating orthopedic surgeries with precision;
Developing exoskeleton robots and other wearable devices;
Developing gait analysis and biomechanics-related software.
He is the Tribology Bronze Medalist awarded by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in the United Kingdom.
He has supervised over 40 master and PhD students, most of whom are working in medical device companies such as Johnson&Johnson, and several have received fully funded PhD scholarship from the United Kingdom. His group has first-class equipment and adequate funding. We warmly welcome students with a strong passion for biomechanics, biotribology, exoskeleton robotics, and software development to join us and shape the future together!
