As a professor of the department of civil engineering in Southwest Jiaotong University and doctoral tutor of road and railway

engineering ,professor Li Chenghui graduated from the department of math and mechanics as a graduate majored in engineering

mechanics from Tong Ji University in January 1982. He was competent as a teaching assistant in Chengdu Technology University

after he got his bachelor of science degree.During this period,he focused his lectures on the theoretical mechanics and the

engineering mechanics.In 1985,he was admitted to the mechanics department of Southwest Jiaotong University to carry on further

study as a master majored in general mechanics.After he got his master degree of engineering, he began his career in road and

railway department of Southwest Jiaotong University.He had served as teaching assistant,lecturer, associate professor and

professor in turn.In 1996,he acquired his doctoral degree of engineering from the road and railway engineering department of

Southwest Jiaotong University. He had also served as a visiting scholar to the civil and environmental engineering department

of University of Edinburgh between 1998 and 1999.He is the incumbent member of the Track Management Group of Railway Capital

Works Committee of the China Railway Institute and the member of the Railway Capital Works Committee of Railway Institute of

Sichuan province.
