Faculty Profile

GONG Xun received his B.S degree in computer science and technology from the Beijing Technology and Business University in 2003. He received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and technology from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU, China) in 2008. He was a visiting scholar of Alberta University, Canada (2015), Louisiana State University, U.S. (2018.7-2019.2). He is a professor, director of software engineering at the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence, Southwest Jiaotong University. His research interests include pattern recognition, computer vision, medical image processing, and deep learning.

He has received 10 Chinese invention patent grants, and published over 60 papers (including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Computer Graphics Forum, Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, etc.), and edited one book titled "Human face cognition, from 2D to 3D"(Science Press, Nov. 2011). He is a member of IEEE, a senior member of CCF, served as Program Co-Chair of ICMLC 2022, Session Chair of ICMLC 2021, Program Committee member of AAAI2022, CCBR (2019-2021), ISKE(2015-2021), etc. He is a reviewer of IJCIS, ACTA AUTOMATICA SINIC, TMM, Chinese Journal of Electronics, etc.
