Research Field
Dr. Cao’s mainly focused on the development of new models and methods for parameters inversion and information extraction from remote sensing imagery especially for environmental management and natural disaster monitoring. Over the past five years, he was the principle investigator of the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) and the Foundation of National/Provincial/Ministerial Key Laboratory. He was also the main investigator of more than 10 scientific research projects, such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Key Basic Research Development Program (973), and the National High-tech Development Program (863). So far, he has published over 50 research papers in journals and conferences.
His current research interests are:
(1) Information extraction and change detection based on Remote Sensing
(2) Environmental Management and Disaster Monitoring
(3) Spatio-temporal information fusion and analysis
