Dr wang graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University with a BSc and MSc degree in HVAC engineering. He then pursued his doctoral research in Tunnelling and Underground Space engineering at the same University where he received his PhD in 2010. During the period of Sep, 2008 to Sep, 2009, he studied in School of Engineering, Unversity of Aberdeen, UK as a joint-training PhD student.

He joined Sichuan University as a lecturer in 2010 then a associate Professor in 2013. In Oct 2014 he returned to Southwest Jiaotong University as a talent associate Professor.
