Faculty Profile

Yin Tong is currently an Associate Professor in Automatic Control and Transportation Engineering. She received her BEng degree in Automation from Xidian University (China) in 2012, and Ph.D. degrees in Mechatronic Engineering and in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Xidian University and from the University of Cagliari (Italy), respectively, in 2017. She joined the Southwest Jiaotong University in Jul. 2017 as an assistant professor. She was the visiting professor of the University of Cagliari in 2018 and 2019.

Since 2018, she has been supported by the "Qingmiao Talent Program" of Southwest Jiaotong University. Currently, she is the coordinator of the double doctoral degree program between Southwest Jiaotong University and the University of Cagliari, Italy.

She has hosted/participated in more than 10 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key international cooperation projects of Sichuan Province, and key projects of the China Railway Corporation. Her research interests include discrete-event system theory, cyber-security, fault diagnosis, railway/metro traffic regulation, etc. She has published 30 papers in top journals and international conferences in the field of systems control such as IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, CDC, ACC, etc. Among them, two papers were ESI highly cited papers. The sum of the journal impact factors exceeds 51. According to Google Scholar, the published papers have been cited more than 450 times. She is currently the Associate Editor of IEEE CDC, ACC, IEEE SMC, IEEE CASE. She served as the publication chairman of WODES'16, a member of the ETFA International Program Committee, and the session co-chair of ACC'19 and IEEE SMC'20. She has organized CDC and CASE invited sessions many times. She currently serves as a reviewer for many internationally renowned journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, Information Sciences, CDC, ACC, etc.
