Mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in tunnel and underground engineering. As a member of the national excellent course teaching team of Underground Railway, he was awarded the title of "2014 Advanced Teaching Collective of Southwest Jiaotong University", and more than 40 national, provincial and major engineering and technology research projects are completed. It has won some prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award for Natural Science.
The research topics mainly cover the aseismic theory of mountain tunnel in high intensity earthquake area, the mechanical properties of tunnel construction with large cross-sections, the construction control technology of underground engineering under complex geological conditions, and the safety evaluation of subway engineering close construction, etc. More than 100 academic papers, and 10 invention patents, 10 textbooks and works have been published at home and abroad.

1.Name of Research Group:Department of education innovation team for large and complex traffic tunnel engineering
Description of Research Group:One of the members of the Innovative research team "Large and Complex Traffic Tunnel Engineering" of the Ministry of Education. Relying on the national key disciplines of Bridge and Tunnel Engineering of OUR university, the team conducts research on key theories and common core technical issues of large and complex traffic tunnel engineering in railway, highway tunnel, urban subway and other fields. Main research fields :(1) structural theory and construction mechanics of large shield tunnel; (2) Safety control, structural durability and maintenance system of large and complex traffic tunnels; (3) Anti-shock absorption of railway tunnel and highway tunnel in high intensity earthquake area; (4) Disaster prevention and rescue and operation environment control of expressway tunnel group and ultra-long high-speed railway tunnel.
In the field of anti-shock absorption of tunnel engineering in high intensity earthquake zone, gao bo and professor shen yusheng set up a special research team, which consists of 5 professors, 1 associate professor and 2 lecturers. The main research work is :(1) the study of mountain tunnel structure dynamics in high intensity earthquake zone; (2) Aerodynamic study of high-speed railway tunnel; (3) Study on mechanical properties of long-span tunnel construction; (4) Study on construction mechanics of underground railway.
