Luo Shixian is an assistant professor in the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University, an overseas high-level study abroad talent in Sichuan Province, and a recipient of Southwest Jiaotong University's "Young Scholars Program".

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Southwest Petroleum University, Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Sichuan Agricultural University under the supervision of Prof. Sun Dajiang, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Chiba University in Japan under the supervision of Prof. Katsunori Furuya.

Dr. Luo's research areas are environmental psychology, environmental behavior, and social ecology. His work has been published in academic journals such as Landscape and Urban Planning, Sustainable Cities and Society, Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Forests, Land, The Science of The Total Environment, Heliyon, Buildings, Tourism Recreation Research, Tropical Geography, Landscape Architecture, Chinese and Foreign Architecture, and the Journal of Sichuan Institute of Tourism. He has published one book in Chinese, "Research on Landscape Imagery of Western Sichuan Forest Plateau" (as associate editor). Cited 900+ times by Google, h-index 13. He has presided over the project of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), the special project of special research assistant of Chiba University, the youth project of Philosophy and Social Science of Sichuan Province, the project of Basic Research Operating Costs of Central Universities-Science and Technology Innovation, and participated in the project of Landscape Recreation Research Center of Sichuan Province, and the project of Kham Culture Research Center of Sichuan Province.

He is currently serving on a peer reviewer of more than 40 academic journals such as Landscape and Urban Planning, Cities, npj Urban Sustainability, Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, Scientific Reports, Journal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, Leisure Studies, Journal of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism, Frontiers in Sustainable Cities, Journal of Urban Management, Journal of Urban Health, Tourism Recreation Research, Urban science, Journal of Advanced Transportation. In addition, he has served as the guest editor for a special issue of Frontiers in Built Environment and Land.
