Weiqun Liu was born in Hunan, China, in 1983. He received the B.S. and M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Science and Technology of China in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from Université de Grenoble Alpes in engineering science, 2015.
He worked as a research engineer in company of Infinova Group from 2008 to 2011. In 2015, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, as a Faculty Member, where he is currently an Associated Professor. He has authored more than 40 journal publications and conference paper. His research interests include energy harvesting, smart material systems and structures, nonlinear dynamics and battery management system.
So far, Dr. Liu has received two grants from National Natural Science Foundation, two grants from Sichuan Province, a general first-class fund and a special fund of Postdoctoral Foundation of China.
