1972 Born in Chongqing, China.
1991 Graduated from the Art Middle School attached to Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (SCFAI), Chongqing.
1996 Graduated from Department of Sculpture, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute ( BA) , Chongqing.
2008 Graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University (MA), Chengdu, Sichuan.
From 1996 to now Teaches at SWJTU. He is the associate professor of SWJTU and the curator of the Art Gallery of SWJTU.
He is the member of China Sculpture Institute and the director of Sichuan Artists Association.
2013-2014,He studied at Georgia State University as a Visiting Scholar.Chunyao Liu is an active sculptor and public artist in Southwest China.
