Supervisor of Doctorate Candidates
Supervisor of Master's Candidates
Junyan Li, PhD, Professor, Principal Investigator, Supervisor of Doctorate and Master Candidates.
His research areas include: Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, Biotribology, Robotic Exoskeletons.
He has been using computational approaches including finite element method, multibody dynamics and optimization, experimental tools including motion capture, imaging, biomechanical testing and biotribological testing, and through developing new methods: to investigate the biomechanics and biotribology of bones, muscles and joints; to test and develop implants including joint prostheses, artificial ligaments and tissue repair products; to pre-clinically simulate orthopedic surgeries; to develop robotic exoskeletons.
He is the Tribology Bronze Medalist awarded by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in the United Kingdom.
He has supervised 27 master and PhD students, most of whom are working in medical device companies such as Johnson&Johnson, and several have received fully funded PhD scholarship from the United Kingdom. His group has first-class equipment and adequate funding. We welcome students with a strong interest in Biomechanics, Biotribology, Robotic exoskeletons and etc to join us!
