Research Group

Dr. Gou is a key member of technology innovation research team led by President Qianhui Pu. The team is committed to bridge intelligent detection and service security research. The team consists of 3 professors, 2 associate professors, 3 lecturers, more than 20 doctoral students, and more than 70 master students. The team relies on the National engineering research center for geological disaster prevention techenology in land transportation, Structural engineering test center of Southwest Jiaotong University and Sichuan Jiaotong University Engineering Inspection and Consulting Co., Ltd. and other institutions. Innovative research results have been achieved in the fields of deformation mapping and safety evaluation of vehicle-rail-bridge systems.

With the main line of ‘theoretical research-key technology-equipment development-platform development’, the team independently developed an intelligent rapid detection and evaluation platform for bridges in complex environments. In response to the frequent occurrence of natural disasters, practical products such as bridge pier protection, slope protection, and flexible shed-tunnel have been developed, which can effectively reduce structural damage. Aiming at the service safety of high-speed railway bridges, an intelligent evaluation system for the safety of high-speed railway bridges and a big data analysis platform for natural disaster monitoring along high-speed railways has been developed. The above results have been applied to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Yangtze River Bridge, Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, Edong Yangtze River Bridge, Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago Chain Xihoumen Bridge, Qinghai-Tibet Railway Lhasa River Bridge, Chongqing Yangtze River Second Bridge, Fuling Yangtze River Bridge, Nanjing Yangtze River Second Bridge, Nanjing Third Yangtze River Bridge, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway Nanjing Dashengguan Yangtze River Bridge, Shanghai-Tong Railway Yangtze River Bridge, Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge on Lianzhen Railway, Ningbo Railway Hub North Ring Line Yongjiang Bridge and many other famous bridges.

In recent years, the team has hosted or participated in more than 200 scientific projects, published more than 200 academic papers, obtained more than 100 authorized invention patents and software copyrights. The team has published 5 monographs, and participated in the preparation of more than 20 national/industry/local standards. The research results have won two national science and technology progress awards, three Sichuan science and technology progress awards, one science and technology award from China Transportation Association and other awards.
