邓大鸣，西南交通大学政治学院法学教授,法学系主任。四川外语学院英语语言文学学士；武汉大学法学硕士；西南财经大学国际金融博士，曾长期供职于四川省政法部门，多次应邀为省级机关和省、市、地、州领导和全省法院院长培训班授课。

1999作为我国仅有的两名代表之一，参加乔治城大学与世界银行,美国政府,微软、惠普、波音等公司共同举办的转轨经济国家高级研讨班。访美期间曾多次应邀为美国金融界、企业界、律师界介绍中国的投资环境和法制建设情况，并应邀在世界银行多边投资担保机构MIGA工作，工作范围涉及外商在华直接投资的非商业性风险担保。

邓大鸣教授精通企业涉外业务，深谙中外文化背景之差异，在教学中贯穿中西，旁征博引，深受学生欢迎。其研究领域较为广泛，虽然为国际法方向的学科带头人，但却在法哲学上颇有心得。现为四川省法学会理事及四川省法理学会常务理事，成都市仲裁委仲裁员。

Deng Daming, professor of South West Jiaotong University, received his PhD in economics from South West University of Finance and Economics, his Master’s degree in law from Wuhan University and his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Sichuan Institute of Foreign Languages，is widely known for his work and success as well as his rich experience in the legal professional field. Mr. Deng is an expert on international trade and international investment law. In 1999, he was invited, as one of the two representatives from our country, to take part in the Pew Economic Freedom Fellows Program sponsored by Georgetown University, World Bank, Boein, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft as well as American Government, where he made several speeches on “Investment climate in China” at the invitation of the host to American law firms and business circle. Then he was invited to work in the World Bank (Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency) on “the insurance policy to FDI in China.” Mr. Deng has been the faculty member of the law school of South West Jiao Tong University. He also accepted an honorable teaching position in Judges’ College of Sichuan Province.

Prior to his teaching position, Mr. Deng served in Justice Department of Sichuan Province where he was responsible for investigating and mediating disputes between foreign and domestic enterprises. In addition, he formulated and supervised the implementation of economic polices to improve the local investment climate. Mr. Deng has contributed to various research projects on international economics, human rights and the legal infrastructure needed to support a market economy. His research has been presented at international conferences and published in several university journals.

Mr. Deng is familiar with foreign direct investment affairs and the legal business of investment banking. With the rich knowledge of Chinese and western culture and his fluent English, Mr. Deng is very good at promoting the understanding between the foreign investors and their Chinese partners in the negotiations.
