    Profile

Sikai Chen graduated from Southwest Jiaotong University in Materials Science and Engineering in 2014, then received a master's degree in Bioresource Science from the University of Tsukuba, Japan in 2017, and a PhD in Biomaterials Science from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2020. After graduation, he was awarded by the China Postdoctoral Foundation's "International Postdoctoral Exchange Program Fellowship" and conducted postdoctoral research at College of Chemistry, Sichuan University. In December 2022, he entered the department of Environmental Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University and served as a special associate professor. Sikai has been engaged in researchin research on high-value conversion of agricultural waste and chemical modification of natural macromolecules. His work has been published as the first author or corresponding author in important magazines in related fields such as "Macromolecules", "International Journal of Biological Macromolecules" and "Chemosphere". As the project leader, he presides over the National Natural Science Foundation of China Young Scientists Fund, the International Postdoctoral Exchange Program Fellowship, the Sichuan Province Overseas Students Scientific and Technological Activity Project Merit Funding Project, and the Sichuan University Postdoctoral Research and Development Project. As a main researcher, he participates in the Key Regional Joint Research Program of National Natural Science Foundation as a main researcher.
